Shanahan Piano Studio

Eva earned Masters degrees in both music and philosophy from Univerzita Mateja Bela in Banska Bystrica (Slovakia) in 2007, earning distinction with both degrees. While there, she studied with internationally acclaimed Russian composer and pianist Jevgenij Irsai. She has performed with a number of choirs and vocal octets, as well as performing with several rock groups. Although she is primarily a classical pianist, she has experience playing in a number of groups, including a jazz/salsa band, a reggae group, and a pop/rock band.

Before moving to Winnetka, Eva had her own piano studio in Worthington, OH (2018-2022). Her students enjoyed many recitals as well as exams for National Piano Guild Auditions with excellent results.

Eva also taught in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in her own private piano studio as well as at LSU Performing Arts Academy (2014-2018). She also lived in Charlottesville, Virginia (2013) where she had her private studio and taught in Bay 1 Studios and The Music Emporium of Charlottesville. Previously, she taught in Columbus, Ohio with GnG Music Instruction, Music and Arts, and the Music Teachers Network, as well as her own private studio. She has also taught privately in both Slovakia and Ireland, and was previously on the faculty of the Ružomberok School of Music. From 2008 to 2011, she taught at Waltons New School of Music in Dublin, Ireland. She also served as an accompanist and a frequent judge at competitions.

Students of Eva have won The Kurzweil Piano Prize in Dublin, Ireland (2009), the Mature Student of the Year (2009, 2010), The Royal Conservatory Music Development Program Awards of Excellence (2014). Many students have gone on through piano exams with the Royal Irish Academy of Music (RIAM), and the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). Most of these students have earned distinction on these exams. 

Eva's students also participated in Louisiana Piano Rally competitions (2016-2018) and National Piano Guild Auditions in Columbus, OH (2019-2023) with excellent results. Most of her students in Illinois have been doing the Achievement in Music exams with excellent results.
